Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Nashville TN
1107 AM CDT Sun Apr 5 2026

...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM...

.KEY MESSAGES...
Updated at 1105 AM CDT Sun Apr 5 2026

- Fair weather through Tuesday with cool nights.

- Warming temperatures Wednesday through next weekend with very
  low rain chances.

&&

.SHORT TERM...
(Rest of today through Monday)
Issued at 1105 AM CDT Sun Apr 5 2026

The cold front and associated showers cleared the area this morning
leaving behind cooler air and a broken cumulus deck mainly over the
eastern half of the area. We`ll have breezy northwest winds through
the afternoon. Winds will die down this evening with clear to partly
cloudy skies as surface high pressure influences move in from the
west. This will allow temperatures to drop into the mid 30s to low
40s. Some patchy frost may be possible in the cooler spots.
Temperatures will rebound into the 60s to near 70 on Monday with
plenty of sunshine.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Monday Night through next Sunday)
Issued at 1105 AM CDT Sun Apr 5 2026

A clipper system will move through the Great Lakes Monday night
forcing another shot of cooler air into our area. This will knock
temperatures down a few degrees on Tuesday. This will be short-lived
as southerly low level flow returns by the end of Wednesday. This
will help temperatures to get back into the 70s and 80s. The
extended forecast continues to look dry with no promising rain
chances through next weekend.

&&

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 600 AM CDT Sun Apr 5 2026

Light rain continues along the Plateau, but this will come to an
end between 12Z and 13Z. BKN to OVC skies will clear from west to
east this morning with MVFR to IFR holding on longest at CSV and
SRB. But these TAF sites should be back to VFR between 16Z and
18Z. Northwesterly winds will be gusty at around 15 to 20 knots
this afternoon.
